About us

Me & Ella (De Brightdale's Belly Dancer) at Spaniel camp in 1997.
I have lived with dogs my whole life. When I was little my mom bred English Cocker Spaniels in kennel Microbox. There were two female Cockers in our family - Ada (Lasti-Ada) and Ella (De Brightdale's Belly Dancer). Also a male Kimmo (Tripol's Copper Coin) spent his late years with us.
I have also visited shows in Estonia and abroad since I was a child. Usually I was at shows as just a visitor and never showed any dogs myself.
In addition to the Cockers in 1997 we got a Tibetan Terrier called Cindy (Fabulous Teddy's Burning Love), thanks to whom we came to the understanding that the Cockers are not the right breed for us. But the grooming of a Tibetan Terrier was a bit too much fuss.
After I started living on my own I managed to live less than a year without owning a dog. Although I was not planning on a dog any time soon, somehow I decided that I had to take a puppy. Knowing how much of a responsibility owning a dog is, I was very careful when choosing the right breed. Finally I made my choice – a Wire-haired Miniature Dachshund!

Cindy (Fabulous Teddy's Burning Love)
I started looking for kennels breeding Dachshunds in Finland, since we didn't have much wire-haired minis in Estonia. This is when I found Jani and Tiina – owners of Wire-haired Miniature Dachshunds from kennel Freckle-Face. The kennel Freckle-Face had a litter at the time, but unfortunately no female puppies were available. Then Jani suggested that I take a look at a Polish kennel Hycon & Tapsaga, where there was a litter from their male Freckle-Face Massimiliano at that time. And soon enough a female puppy was booked for me.

Me & Kenzi - BIS II at Tallinn International Dog Show 21.08.11
In February 2009 we brought home little Kenzi (Baltic Hycon), who immediately charmed us all. Kenzi was born as a miniature, but since she was smaller we changed her breed to rabbit when she was 15 months old. After that Kenzi started her showcareer, getting great results - we got more titles than we had ever expected. We also started training agility and in spite of her short legs Kenzi is really good at this too.
Agility was the factor that decided the breed of our second dog. The Shetland Sheepdog seemed to be a good choice having agility in mind. After consulting with my mom I decided to take a sheltie from Dina Korna (kennel Scandyline). In May 2010 I brought home Kira (Scandyline Golden Verbena), who is co-owned with her breeder Dina.
Thanks to Kenzi and Kira I became more interested in dog shows, dog sport and breeding. From their nicknames we got our kennel-name – Kenzira's, which was confirmed by the FCI in the beginning of the year 2011.
Our first litter (Wire-haired Rabbit Dachshund) was born in the spring of 2011, but unfortunately it consisted of only one male puppy - Freddie (Kenzira's A Kind Of Magic), who stayed with us.
